Multi Environment Trial (MET) analyis

Overview

This subsection of Katmandoo manages information from the analysis of series of experiments.

Katmandoo stores information on tha analysis of series of experiments (METs) at three levels:

Table Structure

Column Name Description
METId (PK) Identification Number that uniquely identifies a MET analysis.
METName (AK) Description for the Multi environment trial analysis
METGroupName (AK) Name that uniquely identifies a MET Group
StatisticalModel  Text representation of model formula (with covariate information)
AnalystId (FK) Id that identifies te analyst (contact) who analysed data.
TraitId Id that identifies the analysed trait.
InstanceNo Instance is number of occurance of the Trait for a trial in a day.

Pre-requisite

The following information must exist before a MET can be added into the database.
Note: Although Unknown Contact can be used, it is preferable to add the Analyst information before importing a new MET. This avoids changing at a later date.

Main Form

Use [ Task > Phenotype > Analysis > Manage Multi Environment Trial (MET) Analysis ] to load MET Main Form with all the METs for the currently selected Sub-system in the database.

  1. MET Main Form is displaying all the METs for currently selected Sub-system (6)
  2. MET Group Datagrid is displaying the MET Group for which the  EGV is shown in MET Group EGV Datagrid (3).
  3. MET Group EGV Datagrid is displaying all the MET EGV for the selected MET Group (2).
  4. The MET Group EGV are analysed using these trials (these are dummy data!).
  5. MET Group EGV subform displaying the additional information of the selected MET Group EGV (3).
  6. Currently selected Sub-system.

Setup Form

MET can be added by importing from the external source file only.

To edit a MET, follow the steps below :

  1. Trial Information of the selected MET.
  2. Statistical Model of the MET is disabled as the MET has dependant data. Click here for information on editing restricted value.
  3. Analyst Name
  4. Analysis done date
  5. Entry any note of the MET
  6. Click it to remove restriction. Click here for information on editing restricted value.
  7. Trial Analysis Virtual column name (in second step of the wizard) can be selected from the combobox. Click here for information on the virtual column data entry data grid.
  8. A value for the displayed virtual column can be entered on this part of the data grid.

Setup Form for MET Group

MET Group can be added by importing only from the external source file.

To edit a MET Group, follow the steps below :

  1. MET information of the selected MET Group
  2. MET Group Name, Statistical Model and Analyst Name of the MET are disabled as the MET has dependant data. Click here for information on editing restricted value.
  3. Enter Percent Variance Explained
  4. Enter Bi-plot File Name
  5. Enter any note for the MET Group
